Book Signing August 12 in Savannah

Good afternoon, everyone. It’s Lisa again. I just wanted to sign in and give y’all the info regarding the book signing next week since we now have the times confirmed.

Wednesday 08/12/09 3:00 to 6:00 PM
Paula, Jamie, Bobby and Uncle Bubba will be at Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House for a book signing. Free trolley service provided by Old Savannah Tours and Old Town Trolley at Johnson Square starting at 12 pm, running every 30 minutes until 3 pm with return trips available after the signing.

For those of you planning to park downtown and take the shuttle, I highly recommend parking in one of the parking garages to help avoid parking tickets for expired meters.

We hope to see you there!

Back to the blog.

We would like to come to the book signing on Aug. 12. Does Uncle’s Bubba’s Oyster House take reservations.  If so, could we make reservations for lunch on the 12th and also participate in the book signing.

Hi

I emailed Jamie and Bobby yesterday regarding getting something signed for my friend who has pancreatic cancer.  She loves The Lady and Sons, and has talked about visiting me and going.  But her chemotherapy won’t allow her to travel, so I hope you will give me the chance to get a VIP pass and get something autographed by Paula and the boys. Her daughter will be here that week and we will come to Uncle Bubba’s.  She would be thrilled and it sure would add some joy to her difficult days.

Thank you

Beth,

We do not have passes for this event. My recommendation would be to arrive well in advance of the book signing to secure your place in line. The trolley service starts at noon to bring people down to the restaurant.

Anna,

Uncle Bubba’s takes reservations for 10 or more. Lunch is served at 11 am, so you would have an hour to eat before the trolley starts to bring people from downtown. Otherwise, feel free to grab a bite after you get your books signed.

Thanks for your reply regarding reservations for lunch on the day of the book signing.  It is just my husband and myself so we will try to be there early before the trolley gets there and then grab a bite after the book signing.  Thanks again.  Another question.  I have all of Paula’s and the boys cookbooks including the original cookbook she published herself before she was famous.  Can I bring all of them and have them all signed?

Anna,

We do not put limits on the number of items to be signed, however, we do ask that you be courteous to the other folks waiting to have their items signed. You can also make the process go faster by taking a sticky note and writing the person’s name on it that you want personalized. Please make sure to print it legibly so there are no mistakes!

My husband and I are coming over for the book signing on the 12th.  We are coming from Western North Carolina.  We want to drive over on Tuesday the 11th. and spend the night so we can get to Uncle Bubba’s Restaurant early.  Are there any Hotel or Motel’s near Uncle Bubba’s Restaurant that we could stay at so we can get there early and also what is the Address of Uncle Bubba’s Restaurant so we can put in our GPS.
Thanks,
Anna Parham

Good morning, Anna. Let me answer your questions.

First, the address for the restaurant is below:
104 Bryan Woods Road
Savannah, GA 31410

As for hotels, there are none on Wilmington Island. There are several on Tybee Island and Downtown Savannah.
