I slipped and landed on 2 porkchops with rice and gravy and cabbage and biscuits and broccoli with my mouth wide open.
Yes, momma’s dinner table is the place where tight pants go to die.
Brooke warned me a full hour before we left the house to watch myself but those chops will be my downfall...and the biscuits. That’s not the first(or last) dinner that I eat because it tastes so good. Forget still being hungry, that feeling is over 10 minutes before I take a breath…
Did I mention the Million Dollar Pie? Oh baby....the pie.
I’m still full.
Some of y’all have asked about the schedule Bobby and I keep at the restaurant. We are at the restaurant unless we are out on the road somewhere. Every week that I check in with y’all, I do it from my office at the Lady & Sons. I call it an office but it’s more of a clubhouse. We are in the store signing books and taking pictures, visiting with folks and lending a hand to our staff 5 or 6 days a week.
Our guest’s are always surprised to see us here. I think some folks believe we live in their televisions. I can’t tell you the best time to catch us, but if you are in Savannah for a few days you have a decent shot at catching us during the day. I have cut out my double-shifts since Jack has come around.
I knew y’all would find the humor in our “not” butter deal.....and mom has too. She has not dis-owned, cut out of the will, or given us a spanking. She has the best sense of humor of all of us and will have so much fun playing with us about it but she supports Bobby and I above all other things and is proud and as excited as we are to have the opportunity to launch a new national product. And one Bobby and I really believe in too I might add.
The podcast? I don’t know.....Phil?
To Sherri: Brooke and I felt it was important for Jack to learn a little about separation and we found a great program at a church that has “school” 2 days a week for a couple of hours a day. We, of course were nervous, Brooke cried while I videotaped the big day but Jack took right to it. He figured out that momma would come back and it became about fun and exploring for him. Oh, and the suckers and snacks at school probably didn’t hurt. You wonder what you will do with the time but I bet you can fill it pretty easily...at least take a few hours for yourself.
Hey Joey, I’m sorry to hear your Nanny passed. I bet she was a good cook, you don’t make it to “Nanny” status unless you can shake a pot or two. In our family all of our loved ones that have passed stay with us every time we use their recipe or share a memory of our time in the kitchen with them or use a certain pot. Take those times and share them often and Nanny will never be far from your mind or heart…
OK, I gotta head down and get to work.
Y’all too, go do something good
