Our GM had his baby yesterday!

...I mean his wife had their baby yesterday. Congrats to Dustin and Julia Walls on the birth of their son Jordan. I talked to Dustin and little while ago and he is already knee deep in dirty diapers...he ain’t seen nothing yet!

This is the last post for my blog at ladyandsons.com, we are moving over to our new site, thedeenbros.com beginning next week. we are so excited and the site is awesome. Y’all jump over there and check it out. We are going to be working on content for the next few months and I need you to send in ideas for the areas y’all might like to see....we got a huge response for the condo name contest and I expect big ideas. We are going to have an “Ask the Deen Bros.” section, y’all know I love to answer questions, and I hope Bobby will start up his own blog too.

A BIG thanks goes out to Phil, Michelle and Lisa for all their hard work in making this a site that looks great and will offer great ideas, recipes, conversations and fun for everyone.

We had a great response on QVC this past weekend and sold out of our new book, Take It Easy. It was the first sell of the book and our first time on QVC for Random House and we are thrilled to be able to do well for both of our new partners....and we had fun too, of course.

After another commercial plane travel snafu (someone left the lights on the plane burning all night and they had to recharge the batteries for an hour and a half, if you can believe that!) we missed our connector in Philly and had to drive up to West Chester. Our driver drove a hundred miles an hour and we skidded in the parking lot with 20 minutes to spare.

We always do our best work under pressure.

That’s all the time I have this morning, still have about 5000 cards to sign and we shoot the Christmas cover for mom’s magazine today and I have to get to the hospital to see the new bundle of joy!

Look for us next week at http://www.thedeenbros.com and send me those ideas.

Thanks for checking back, do good.

Hey Jamie and Bobby, congrats on the new site.  Will be looking forward to it.  Maybe Bobby will blog, too.

Bought the ckbk on Friday’s QVC.  I was told the mailing date would be Sept. 17th.  That’s okay.  Can’t wait to try the dessert you showed - the blackberry pie.  I gained five pounds just oogling over everything!!!!

Am mailing you guys an article from the sports section of our paper here.  Remember, it’s only a poll but a GOOD ONE.  Enjoy reading or perhaps you have a papershredder in your office????!!!!
HA.  Anyway, that’s all for now.  Off to vacation next Wednesday for five days.  Can’t wait.  I need it.  It’s been three years since.

HUGS, Jann

Congratulations to Dustin & Julia and welcome to the world little one!

Love your blog - can’t wait for the new site.

Good thing you work well under pressure with the way the airlines are treating you! At least you weren’t one of those people who were trapped on the delayed flight, stuck without bathrooms, etc. for hours on end! Ugh, I can’t even imagine!

Hope you and your family are well ~ Lori

Hey Jamie!

Congrats on your new book!! I saw you guys on QVC and can’t wait to get myself a copy!!

Just wondering if you or any of your family are planning to attend the Bristol race again this year?

Take care,
Melissa

Congratulations to Dustin and Julia!
All the best to you all.  I’m sure Jamie will be able to give you tips and advice along the way.
Love and big hugs from my computer to yours!!!

I can’t believe the battery needed charging!  Belta again?

I do have an idea for the new blog.  I would love it if you could include any newspaper articles about you,or magazine articles that feature you, Bobby or your Mom.  Esp the ones that are published in Georgia.  I would love to see what is being written about you.  You all do so much good. I would love to hear about it.  I enjoy the videos that you have included in Get Cookin’, and would love to see what is in print too.

Found the new site last night...LOVE it!!!
Really hope that Mr Bobby will join in too!
So looking forward to all that is yet to come.

Thanks Phil, Lisa and Michelle for all you do.

xo,

Deb M

OOOPS! I think you might be getting this message twice, so bear with me please.

Hey Jamie!!! Back in May I left your Mama one of my bottle trees and a dozen bottles at the P.D. Enterprises. I know you get alot of gifts and all but I’m really passionate about my work and equally zealous about sharing my trees with others throughout the surrounding states. Call it Mississippi Love I guess, because we feel very strongly about our bottle trees. It has significant historical value and best of all it ALWAYS brings a smile to a person’s face when the sun streams through the different shades of colored glass....I could go on and on. For more information about them and pictures, please access my website: http://www.missmetaldesign.com If for some reason y’all don’t like the 7’ tree I left, please refer to my “Katrina Tree”. She’s actually my favorite. I love the work you and your family do, by means of charitable work as well, and I just want to add to your “fun, outdoor decor”. Keep up the good work. You’ve done an excellent job of staying grounded and real!!Thanks so much Jamie.

Congrats to Dustin and Julia! I too watched you on QVC and watched the book sell out! Now, get busy signing all those stickers so they can ship those books. (with only 5k left your hands must be cramping by now...Didn’t you start with 17K!)lol

I think I may email you and bobby before I fly out of SAV airport from now on to make sure you are not on my flight! No offense but you have some bad flight juju surrounding you these days.... grin

Just Checked the new site. Thanks Phil, Lisa, and Michelle… It looks great.

1st suggestion for the new site: Move the old blog info over to the new blog site… That way we can look back at the older blog posts.
2nd suggestion: Link your Twitter page to the new site so that we can have 1 place to check into.

And Thank Erica at Paula Deen Enterprises for getting me that Low Country Set! I am much appreciative.
Thanks for all you and your family does for SAV also!

Melanie,

It’s a bit involved to move the blog, so we will have a link from the new site to this one.

Phil is working on the Twitter integration to the new site as well. I don’t have a timeline on it, but it won’t be long.

Jamie, just wanting to check with you to see if Jack received his book I sent him?

By Andrea L. on August 12 2009

Jamie,

You and Bobby should charter a private plane. Oh course I have no idea how much something like that cost. LOL!

I looked at the new website and I think it looks awesome.

Bobby can you give us the recipe for the spinach and artichoke dip you made with Paula on Best Dishes?

Have a good week Bobby, Jamie, Paula and other bloggers.

Congrats to Dustin and Julia on that little bundle. Jamie you and your family have sooooo inspired me. I opened my own restaurant three years ago and have just out grown our little cafe. Last week I signed papers to sell my building and we are going to more that double our setting in the new one. We cook homemade and home style foods that people just dont have time to do themselves. I just love your momma.I saw her make an AMAZING dessert one day on t.v. ( the french bread, banana and hazelnut spread) Oh my god!!!!!! Its is now one of the favorites for folks witha sweet tooth. We call it “ the Paula Dean”. I tried working with my two boys (ages 21 and 24) at the cafe that was a BIG no go. I admire you boys for helping your momma realize her dream and blessing all the rest of us with her sense of humor and that awesome laugh and amazing smile. May God bless you and your family. If your ever in Carlsbad, New Mexico look us up at Calloways Cafe. I worked in the PotashMines for almost 15 years. When I opened the cafe I did it in the minning theme. That of course means everything is BIG! Our pancakes come out in pizza boxes. Come see us we will feed you so full you will need a wheelbarrow. Hugs and kisses and many blessings to you family.

I sent an e-mail through the site but I thought this may be a better way to say “thanks!” I introduced myself to you and your brother in the Philadelphia airport as we were on our way to Charlotte the other day! I just wanted to say that it was very nice to meet you and thank you for adding a refreshing zing to a busy and tiring day of traveling for work! Hope all goes well for future flights and business!

Thanks again!

On my way home from work the other day, I saw a HUGE pic of your mom @ Yale Electric in Boston - advertising her show on 8/29 to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank. What a wonderful cause! Over the past few years, I have done volunteer work for the GB Food Bank and have seen the positive impact this organization has on the community. Wish I was able to go but will be traveling to Europe for work. Thank you and your mom for the effort towards this worthy cause.

Cheers!
